I think you should buy this book. It is the #1 sports series for kids. The book is easy to read, and is a very interesting book.
Bret Thyson finds a skate board in his back yard and it is called the lizard. But a kid named W.E. likes to tell other kids that the lizard is hexed so everybody tells Bret to throw out his board.
At first Bret did not like Mrs. Weatherspoon but then one day Bret saw Mrs. Weatherspoon struggling with her suitcase so Bret decided to help her out and they became friends after that. And Bret started baking cookies for her and that is why she built him a skateboard arena.
When I recently went to florida, I went to a place called Captain Fred’s Airboat Tour. At Captain Fred’s, I got to hold a baby alligator and his name was Bobby. Bobby was almost 2 feet from head to toe. It was really cool. After, we went on the airboat ride. I got to see a bald eagle and an alligator nest with 50 babies. I also got see a 6 foot alligator. It was so close, I could have reached out and touched it. I will always treasure my experience.
This Saturday I went to the outdoor rink. There were lots of kids who brought their hockey sticks. My mom and Steve skated too but they’re not very good. We went back there on Sunday and saw Owen C there too. I spent most of the weekend outside. It was really fun!
We will wait and see what the weather brings tomorrow. Listening to the weather forecasts today sound as if we are in for a big dump of snow.
Congratulations to Justin! He delivered an excellent bag book report about Matt Christopher’s book Dirt Bike Racer. I could tell from the way that Justin spoke that he knew the story inside and out. He gave us a summary of the story while pulling different items from a bag that had a very carefully and well drawn illustration. I was very impressed with the creativity of using a spark plug to talk about the parts that were stolen in the story and a paint brush to talk about the job that the main character Ron did for Mr. Perkins. The class was impressed with all the props and how well Justin explained the story. Well done, Justin.
