Agenda November 23

Filed Under (*Agenda) by Jane Smith on 23-11-2009

We were able to use patterns today to figure out how many times we would have to make a recipe to feed a certain amount of people. That is something that cooks are doing all the time. Tomorrow we will be looking at more pattern work like this.

In the meantime here is a question for you…Let’s say your parents were unbelievably wealthy and they offered to pay you to keep your room clean. Here are the two deals that you have to choose from:

Deal 1 – Your parents would pay you 1 million  dollars($1 000 000) at the end of 30 days if your room is neat and tidy every day.

Deal 2 – Your parents agree to pay you 1 cent the first day, then 2 cents the second day, 4 cents the third day, 16 cents the fourth day  and so on, doubling the number of pennies every day for 30 days.

Which deal do you want to take? Why? Think about it.

  • phys ed is tomorrow
  • rough copies of mystery stories must be finished
  • practice your recorder
  • your teacher will be on the radio tomorrow morning at around 8 am (91.5 FM)

Deal 2 is a better deal because after day 7 I would have over 4,000,000.00 so on the 30 day I would have over infinity dollers.
