Wow! It is the last day of September already! It certainly felt cooler today. How can a coffee can teach us about potential and kinetic energy? When it’s a comeback can. For directions on how to do that at home, click on the science category to see a video. We are almost finished our autobiography posters. I am looking forward to having them on display in the classroom.

• math assessment and letter went home today for signature
• cross country practice tomorrow morning
• photos should be coming back
• student verification documents should be back
• any materials for the autobiography posters should be at school

Another rainy day. I hope that the sun shines for us again soon. We started our day with a math assessment. Tomorrow I will return the students’ and we will go over the questions together. We continued work on our autobiography posters. It has been fun to see some of the pictures that students have brought  in to share. We ended the day with a Bill Nye video about energy. A note from the library went home with the youngest or only students in the class

• remember to bring in the student verification forms
• photos should be coming back to school
• some students are writing the good copy of their autobiography work
• remember to practice recorder

We had our first recorder class today. All the requirements for the first degree white belt are on the paper in your music duotang and the videos and music accompaniment are at portablerecorder.ca Keep your recorder and music duotang in your school bag so that you can practice at home and join in the playing at school. Some students have borrowed recorders from me. A letter will be going home with those students about that tomorrow. 

• we have phys ed tomorrow (the whole gym for just our class!)
• lunch orders were due today, you can probably bring last minute ones in tomorrow
• math  test tomorrow on all that we have done in place value – use your last assessment as practice, visit place value pirates, have your parents ask you to write different numbers
• we are now working on our autobiography posters, remember to bring in pictures and photos
• school photos are due by Friday
